Where did H1 go!?!
Okay….. is it just me or is this year flying by? LOL at when I said I wanted to post monthly blog posts. I swear that was my intention, but I’ve genuinely been so busy. So to make it up, I’ve decided to write this blog post to give you a monthly snapshot of my first half of the year!
Wedding planning has been way more than I expected. I’ve also had some amazing work opportunities (which I’m so thankful for!) but, of course, they’ve taken time. And my regular 9-5 has also been jam packed, so some nights I just need to chill instead of taking out my computer and writing.
So without further ado, here are few words to summarize each month:
January: Work and wedding invites (tbh “dream wedding invites” feels more accurate) were top of mind. The invites took longer than expected, but not only did I get to work on them with someone I now call a dear friend, they turned out incredibly! I am not ready to share any pictures yet but I promise there will be lots of content post wedding so stay tuned!
February: Events and home upgrades!!! I went to so many fun events this month - one highlight was a macaron making class with LaMarca prosecco. Also, let me know why I decided to do a full home refresh the same year I’m planning a destination wedding. Totally not the time for that… but of course I did it anyways. I got one of my new most prized possessions framed, an Hermes scarf that holds so much meaning to me (more to come on this later). Oh, and I saw the Jonas Brothers perform at Massey Hall thanks to my good friend Julia. I’ve been a Jonas Brothers fan since I was in grade 5, so this night was extra special.
March: Home upgrades continued… a new coffee table entered the chat. It’s a stunning wood piece I acquired for only $150 on FB Marketplace. Honestly, part of why I was so busy in H1 was because I was scrolling Marketplace like it was my full-time job. March was also quite a busy work month. I partnered with one of my all-time favourite brands, Whole Foods - which felt so special since I grocery shop there weekly and genuinely love them. I also got to collaborate with Tuft & Paw and another favourite, Silk & Snow. Somewhere in the middle of all that, we had our entire apartment painted (how we pulled that off, I’m still not sure). We also squeezed in some fun: I also went to a Leafs game and a Raptors game. For someone who’s not a huge sports fan, I really packed in the sporting events this month. Oh, and those dream invites? I sent them out! Taking the extra month to perfect them was 100% worth it. I wrapped up the month with a work trip to NYC, my mom met me there, which was so lovely. Looking looking back at my camera roll, I can’t believe all of this happened in just four weeks. The last day of the month was very relaxing though because I went in to Dermalogica for a much needed facial.
April: Finally, a bit of a chiller month. Worked, had some events, (my first ever gifting suite, very cool experience + a very cool ikebana class and high tea at the Hyatt) and Nutbar launched their Lemon Glow smoothie, which has quickly become a new addiction of mine. We went to the vintage show in Toronto which was very fun, I sadly left empty handed but Jordan found a cool vintage sports jersey. Easter weekend was lovely, and the month was full of florals, which I adore. However, my cat Mia loves munching on flowers, so it’s rare I buy them for the apartment!
May: I joined a book club, which has been so fun, even though I haven’t been able to make it to a meeting recently! I started alterations for my wedding dress and my party dress. I celebrated two of my really good friends’ birthdays. My sister graduated university (wish I could have been in the US to see her get her degree). We spent a rainy May long weekend up north. I also made my annual birthday visit to the Four Seasons for a massage, a few days early this year since I was in Paris for my actual birthday (our final wedding planning trip). We ended the month in Champagne, for a nice stay at our venue!
June: Kicked off the month in Paris, loving life. When we got back to Toronto, we relaxed for a few days before diving back into work. Then, since we missed her graduation, we flew my sister to the city to spend some time with us! It was so nice to have her in town, we ate delicious food and had such much needed family time. One of the highlights of her visit was a dinner at the Hamptons, a really good local restaurant.
Now it’s July!: I had a great start to the month, celebrating my best friend’s birthday and being asked to be her bridesmaid!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I went to the Coldplay concert which was amazing, my second time seeing them and hopefully not my last. Otherwise it’s been a bit of a tough month. I’ve been dealing with some personal stuff, but things are starting to look up, hence why I’m actually getting some time to be creative and write this post. My wedding is coming up so soon, and I’m working with some really cool people for it, which has made the process even more fun!
Enjoy some pics from the last 6 months :) but follow me on IG if you wanna keep up in real time! @itsjadefarhat
I probably won’t be writing again until the wedding is done, but I can’t wait to share all the details here. Hope you have a great rest of your summer!
xx, Jade
