Welcome Back
It feels so good to be back, writing and being creative. I have been inactive on Instagram for the past two months, posting stories here and there, and I finally went live with an in-feed post. Not for any particular reason; I just felt like I wasn’t doing anything post-worthy, and I like to post real-time things. I’ve also been trying to live more in the moment, which means being on my phone less and prioritizing socializing and real connection. Which also means less content. So let’s see how that plays out in 2026, maybe my posts will be more intentional…
Here is what I have been up to recently:
I really enjoyed the slowness of the holidays. I spent a week in Edmonton with my in-laws and then a week just hanging out and being cozy in Toronto with my husband. We worked over the holidays, which was honestly kind of nice. It was quiet, so it gave us some time to do heads-down work and not come back to multiple emails in our inbox.
I got myself a Kindle a few days before Christmas, and I have been reading non-stop, ten books so far to be exact.
On NYE we usually stay in, cook a fancy meal, write out our personal goals and what we want to accomplish together in the new year, and open a nice bottle of champagne. This year, we were exhausted and wanted to keep things simple, so we ordered in instead. We still wrote out our goals, ordered sushi from Oroshi, and opened a bottle of champagne we were gifted for our wedding. It was perfect.
The first few days of the year were actually pretty busy. On Jan 1st, our friend Paige had a housewarming party during the afternoon which was so fun (more day hangouts in 2026, please)!!! It was nice to start the year seeing amazing people. Then we saw a few more friends on Jan 2 and the next day I filmed a valentine’s day partnership with a brand that is near and dear to my heart.
In other news, we are finishing our wedding thank-you cards this week and sending them out. According to the internet, you should send them out within the three-month window post-wedding. We recently entered the four-month period post-wedding, but whatever. Better late than never, right? Also, Canada Post was on strike in Q4 last year, so that will be my excuse and reasoning, + we were honestly really busy the 3 months post wedding. We’re hand-writing all our cards on beautiful custom stationery and sending photos to our guests. I didn’t want to rush them, so 4.5 months after the wedding, we’re finally getting them out.
I ALSO printed my wedding photos. I am working on a special thank-you gift for my parents and in-laws. They read my blog, so I won’t be sharing too much here, but I am really looking forward to ship them the gift. I am also excited about the way I am displaying our wedding photos in our own home. More to come on that later. I still want to recap my wedding in a blog post, and I have decided that it will go live around Valentine’s Day. It gives me a deadline, and it is “love” day after all, and I LOVED my wedding.
Looking forward, I have so many exciting plans. While 2025 was great, I felt like my wedding overtook a lot of the year stress-wise, and it just kind of consumed me. To be clear, it was totally worth it. Not only did I have my dream wedding, but I married my dream guy. And you know when people say they don’t want a trip to end, or in this case a wedding? I was totally okay with it ending because of who I was marrying. Jordan and I could have fun doing anything, so I just cannot wait to continue living life with him.
As I mentioned, we didn’t take any time off over the holidays, but we did book a little special trip for this Sunday. I grew up going to Club Med resorts and I’ve always loved them. It’s kind of a family tradition at this point. I actually introduced Jordan to them about four years ago, and now he also appreciates what makes them so special. Honestly, they’re the only all-inclusives I’ve tried and the only ones I’ll ever want to. Why fix something that isn’t broken? We are going to a new one that neither of us has been to: Miches. It is supposed to be amazing, with great food, great amenities, and great weather. We cannot wait for a week to unplug, relax, and get some sun.
A few final thoughts
I signed up for a new gym and start at the end of January!
I also got a new therapist and have randomly started journaling. I say randomly because I was not intending to do so, but one morning something was bugging me, and I just started writing in a journal. I swear it helped, so while I am not consistently doing it, I am doing it when I need to, and that is enough for me.
I spent Sunday in the kitchen, which was so healing. I baked banana muffins and some buns, a special family recipe and one of my husband’s favourite snacks. I then made a healthy dinner: miso eggplant with salmon and a side of rice. At the last minute, I decided to cut up some cucumber and make a fresh salad as another side.
Also very important, I binged Heated Rivalry in a day, such an amazing show. I jumped on the bandwagon and was not disappointed. The last two episodes were so adorable, and I will probably be rewatching them soon.
Lastly, I feel like I need a little re-inspiration to get back to posting on Instagram. I’ve been putting so much thought into my blog and where I want to take it in 2026. Thanks so much for following along!
I’ve rambled enough for now… see you in the next post!
